Supporting children collaboratively across the UK

Specialist nurse-led advice, education and support for nurseries, schools and healthcare providers.

Welcome to our dedicated professional portal. Allergy Nurture Nurses is a CQC-registered advisory service designed to work in absolute harmony alongside primary care teams, community services and educational settings.

Led by Catherine Neale, a Registered Children's Nurse with over 25 years of NHS experience, we provide families with the unhurried time, systematic history reviews and deep clinical education that overstretched primary care settings often cannot accommodate.

Our service model operates on a purely advisory basis. We do not offer medical diagnoses, allergy testing, prescriptions or emergency care. Instead, we empower parents to manage stable, mild to moderate non-IgE presentations with confidence, ensuring they are fully prepared to maximise their interactions with your clinical teams.

Working alongside existing professional networks

Children navigating complex allergic pathways are best supported by a cohesive network of care, including parents, carers, nurseries, schools, GPs, health visitors, dietitians, community nurses and specialist services. Allergy Nurture Nurses acts as an accessible digital bridge, delivering evidence-based, family-centred education within a secure nursing framework.

Professionals are welcome to signpost self-referring families to our remote UK service if they require unhurried guidance or structured reassurance around:

Training and education for nurseries and schools

Proactive, evidence-based training is fundamental to making educational environments feel safe, inclusive and legally compliant. Allergy Nurture Nurses provides bespoke training and educational packages for schools, nurseries and early years settings upon request.

Our training modules are fully tailored to the individual size, infrastructure and unique requirements of your educational setting. Core topics can include:

  • Comprehensive allergy and asthma awareness within school environments.

  • Early identification and swift recognition of mild to moderate allergic responses.

  • Anaphylaxis awareness and the safe deployment of adrenaline auto-injectors.

  • Practical risk reduction strategies for school kitchens, classrooms and playgrounds.

  • De-mystifying and accurately following individual allergy care plans.

  • Supporting emotional inclusion, peer communication and child-centred confidence.

Why proactive training matters:

National child mortality learning from the National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) report on child deaths due to asthma or anaphylaxis highlighted that, between April 2019 and March 2023, 54 children died due to asthma and 19 due to anaphylaxis. The report identified important themes around asthma control, medication use, action plans, communication and education. This underlines why clear information, practical training and confidence-building support are so important for families, carers and professionals involved in a child’s care. Proactive training can help improve awareness, confidence, communication and consistency, supporting safer care for children with allergies and asthma.

Training costs are agreed individually depending on the exact requirements, staff size and needs of the educational institution. Please use our contact details below to request a training consultation.

The journey behind the service

Allergy Nurture Nurses was born out of a profound blend of professional clinical dedication and deeply personal lived experience.

Over two decades of NHS heritage

The NHS was my professional home throughout my nursing career, and I am incredibly proud of the clinical experience, values and skills I gained during that time. Throughout my 25 years as a Registered Children's Nurse, I have supported families through many different stages of their healthcare journeys, with a particular focus on allergy, asthma, eczema and infant feeding concerns.

I saw first-hand that helping a parent navigate a suspected food allergy or a chronic skin flare-up requires far more than a rushed conversation. It requires time to talk, space to ask questions, and practical support that feels completely realistic for everyday family life.

A personal understanding of allergy care

My passion for this field is also deeply personal. As a mum of two children who experienced food allergies, I know exactly what it feels like to make anxious decisions about your child's care, and how vital it is to feel genuinely listened to, reassured and supported.

Allergic conditions affect far more than physical health. They impact feeding, sleep, confidence, school life, family routines and emotional wellbeing. This is why I believe families benefit so much from advice that is not only clinically informed, but also kind, practical and realistic. Stepping forward from the NHS to launch this dedicated service was a significant, carefully considered decision. It has meant learning how to build and manage a healthcare service in a entirely new way, including business development, governance and healthcare management. Throughout this challenging and deeply fulfilling journey, I have remained focused on a simple, child-centred belief: every child deserves the best possible start in life.

Bringing professional values into everyday life

My practice is guided by clear nursing values: compassion, care, integrity, accountability, autonomy, social justice and respect for diversity. These mirror the professional principles of prioritising people, practising effectively, preserving safety and promoting professionalism and trust.

Outside of my professional role, I enjoy being active, travelling and spending time with my family. When I travel, I naturally find myself looking at what local supermarkets offer in terms of suitable fortified food alternatives for children with allergies and intolerances. Understanding these real-world availability variations supports my passion for helping parents feel more confident that, with the right planning and information, family holidays can still feel safe, highly enjoyable and nutritionally supported. My hope is that every family who accesses our service leaves with greater confidence and clear guidance regarding the next steps for their child.
